Oak and Spear

The Oak and Spear is a tavern and inn in Highmoon.  The tavern is owned by a former adventurer and bardess, Kalriel Dahshiel, and she is usually seen working the bar most nights.  It is commonly known that Kalriel purchased the tavern from the previous owners, and added the second floor, where rooms can be rented for the night.

The clientele is a mixture of adventurers and travelers, and Kalriel has been known to give people free drinks in exchange for good songs or stories.

They serve a house made ale, the recipe for which Kalriel claims goes back over a century, though as Kalriel is barely over thirty years herself, some find this claim dubious.

Mounted above the hearth is a wooden spear, made of oak.  Kalriel claims that the founder of the tavern used the spear centuries ago defending Highmoon from orcs, and that the original name of the tavern was “The Oaken Spear”.  The spear seems magical in nature, and Kalriel will tell folks that it is enchanted to never rot or decay, though any other magical properties, she is keeping to herself.
