Fearsome Leader – Cavalier Archetype

Fear is a good motivator — and fearsome leaders use this fact to inspire their troops, rather than resorting battlefield formation strategy.

Dazzling Display: At 1st level, a fearsome commander gains dazzling display as a bonus feat.

Fearsome Inspiration (Ex): A fearsome leader can help his allies throw off effects of enemy fear with his own display. Each time he uses Dazzling Display, as a free action, he also grants any allies suffering from fear effects in the same 30′ radius an additional saving throw to remove the effects; this additional saving throw uses the higher of the ally’s save bonus, or the cavalier’s Intimidate bonus. If an ally in this radius is suffering from a shaken or higher condition due to an enemy Intimidate check, and the Intimidate check rolled by the fearsome leader’s dazzling display is higher than the opponent’s previous Intimidate check, then this condition is also removed from the ally.

Starting at 9th level, the fearsome leader’s allies also gain the benefit of the Good Hope spell for a number of rounds equal to his Charisma modifier, but no more than once per encounter.

At 17th level, whenever the fearsome leader performs a dazzling display, he and his allies add his Charisma bonus to saves against fear effects for a number of rounds equal to his Charisma modifier, but no more than once per encounter.

This ability and Dazzling Display replace Tactician, Greater Tactitian and Master Tactician.
