The Cups Of Joy Tea House
Situated in the town of Highmoon, convenient to both the High Market, and the Leaves of Learning, this tea house is the dream child of Erliza and Serra Everjoy. It’s a quaint, quiet setting for breaskfast, bruch and tea aimed at the academes of the library, as well as the more affluent patrons of the market and surrounding businesses. Its quaint decor offers space for mingling and a performance venue, and there’s always soothing sounds of a local musician adding to the ambience.
Erianna Mayer is the lead baker and barista and supervises operations of the tea house. She brought a life’s worth of knowledge of pastry, hand pie and biscuits with her when Erliza and Serra hired her. Of late she works in tandem with Charla and others who belong to the Everjoy household who might have a druther to pitch in with sweets and edibles, leaving Erianna free to tend folks at the counter.
Dorianne Gaelen is the head server; a young Moonshae lass first brought to the tea house by Serra and Erliza when it opened. She had been the child of a prostitute in the slums of Arabel, working in one of the seedier taverns there, and likely on her way to following her mother’s footsteps; after the mother had assisted Serra and Liza in tracking down a killer in the slums she only asked as a return favor that the two Everjoys could give her daughter a better lease on life. From there the girl was brought to the tea house, and she’s proven herself quite handy not only as customer relations in the tea house, but an overall personal handyman for many tasks the Everjoys need doing.
The side rooms of the tea house offer a quiet spot for couples and for small group discussion, with one room sequestered for extra special occasion — the VIP room. Unknown to any but the household and the close associates therof, the fireplace in the cozy tea room is the gateway to a secret hideout for the guild that Serra and Erliza built — adapted from what used to be part of the sewer system of the town. The guildhall provides secure facilities for shipping and receiving far more than tea and sundries. The Everjoys have leveraged both their trading connections across Faerun, and their intrigue that has impacted operations of less scrupulous guilds across Faerun, into an intricate underground network that Serra hopes to one day become a center of operations of the Scarlet Mummers.
