Isabella is kind hearted soul that enjoys taking care of people. She doesn’t have the same wanderlust for travel and adventure that her sister does, and is perfectly content to run her inn, though she continues to practice her archery and fighting, as she never wants to be a slave again.
Background
Taliah Hawklight was born in 1230 DR. Thedathias Hawklight was on a patrol outside of Everska, when his party was ambushed by drow. His party was killed, but they slew the evil drow with the help of a nymph named Sylphie. She took him back to her home and nursed him back to health, and the two fell in love, and produced a child. Shortly after her birth, the pair were attacked by the drow again, and this time, the nymph did not live, giving her life so that Thedathias and Taliah could live.
Thedathias’s younger brother, Valayan, had inherited the Hawklight family home and fortune. When Thedathias returned and resumed his place at the head of the family, he built a keep on the outside of the city and reunited with his wife, Delmira Fynnasla, a ranger. There they raised Taliah, who loved nature and wanted to be like both of her parents. As their duties would often keep them out of the home, Taliah spent a lot of her time indoors, studying history and the stories of adventurers, always dreaming of becoming one herself. She was always very good with animals, and would often sneak out of the house to explore the surrounding forest.
The house was blessed in 1240 when Delmira gave birth to Isabella Hawklight. This was seen as a great blessing, as Delmira had assumed herself to be unable to conceive a child, and Isabella was born with great flowing white hair that shone just like silver, the pair recognized a touch of the divine in her at once. She would spend much of her time chasing after her older sister, and grew to love books and stories as well. While Taliah dreamed of being a ranger like her mother, Isabella elected to become a monk, dedicating her life to study and training with the bow and staff.
In 1371, their parents were killed by a drow scouting party, Taliah and Isabella were able to escape to the city. Unfortunately, they were not welcomed by their Uncle Valayan, who saw them as not “true” elves, and had them smuggled out of the city and sold into slavery. Taliah was traded to a Red Wizard and enslaved in Thay. Isabella was sold off a wealthy brothel owner in Calimshan.
Taliah would kill her owner in 1380, fleeing east, eventually making her way to Highmoon, where she met Serra Everyjoy, joined the house, and became an adventurer. After the discovery of The Lorestone Grove, Taliah elected to move there to help keep the Grove defended full time.
Isabella worked as a prostitute and personal slave to her owner, doing her best to develop her magical powers and take care of the other slaves in the brothel. Eventually, she was sold off to the Zhentarim, and was being transported as part of a slave caravan that was attacked by orcs. She briefly died trying to protect a drow child from being sacrificed by the orcs, but was brought back to life by the priestess Tarasynora Ianwynn. She moved to Highmoon, reunited with her sister, and opened a tavern and inn, The Silver Swan, where she maintains her own group of men and ladies of the night, doing what she can to help keep them safe and healthy.
